my EVO nano keeps losing connection like 30 seconds after takeoff, no idea whats going on

so anyway this has been driving me absolutely crazy for the past couple weeks. ill take off, everything looks fine, maybe get 30 or 40 seconds of normal flight and then the controller just loses signal and the drone goes into return to home. its not like im flying far, this is happening in my backyard practically overhead. tried it in two different locations thinking maybe interference but same thing both times.

firmware is updated as far as i can tell, the Autel sky app shows everything connected before i take off. battery is fine, ive tried two different ones. im at a complete loss and the Autel support page isnt exactly the most helpful thing ive ever read. anyone seen this before?

had something similar on my nano plus a few months back. turned out my phone was the issue, it kept switching between wifi bands and basically competing with the controller signal. went into my phones wifi settings and disabled the 5ghz band while flying and the dropouts stopped almost completely. might not be your exact problem but worth trying before anything else since its a free fix.

What app version are you on? There was a pretty buggy release of Autel Sky a while back that caused all sorts of weird disconnects and it was basically a known issue for a bit. Also are you using an Android or iPhone because the experience is weirdly different between the two. I switched to an older Android tablet for my EVO flying and it's been way more stable than my iPhone ever was with the same drone, which is backwards from what i expected but here we are lol.

Also just to cover the obvious bases -- have you tried recalibrating the compass since it can cause weird RTH triggers if its off even slightly, especially if youve traveled anywhere with the drone recently.
