so i've been flying my mini 3 for about 8 months now and i feel like i've been kind of plateauing with my shots, always the same angle same altitude whatever. but last saturday i went out to this reservoir near my house right before golden hour and just kind of experimented more than usual, did a slow reverse pull-back from about 15 feet off the water and the reflection came out insane. also tried a top-down on some boats docked at the edge and honestly that one surprised me.

i dont have a place to post the actual clips righ now but if anyone wants to see i can upload to youtube unlisted or something. also curious if people have tips for shooting into the sun without blowing everything out, i was using ND16 but the highlights on the water were still kinda cooked in a few frames.

yeah post the footage, always curious to see reservoir stuff because water reflections are hit or miss depending on wind chop. for the highlight issue honestly i'd try bracketing your exposure a bit more conservatively even if it means the shadows go darker, you can lift those in post way easier than recovering blown water highlights. also what color profile are you shooting in? if you're not on d-log or flat profile yet that's probably half your problem right there

the reverse pull-back low over water is my favorite move, every time. def upload it, even unlisted is fine. i flew a similar spot last month and mine came out blurry because i didn't realize how much the prop wash was rippling the surface at that height lol so curious how yours turned out
