so this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure where to start. when i switch into manual mode the drone drifts noticeably to the left, like i have to constantly correct with roll to keep it tracking straight. in normal mode its fine, holds position no problem, but the second i drop into manual it pulls left pretty consistently.

ive done the IMU calibration a couple times and it doesnt seem to change anything. i also tried recalibrating the remote but same deal. the props look fine visually, no chips or anything obvious. firmware is current i think, checked a few weeks ago. flying mostly in open fields so its not a wind reading thing, checked on calm days too.

is this just a motor balance thing or am i missing something obvious in the setup. feel like ive gone through the obvious stuff already but maybe not.

have you checked if the props are actually seated fully and balanced? like visually they can look fine but if one is even slightly loose on the motor shaft it'll cause a pull. also worth swapping props around to different motors and seeing if the drift direction changes - if it follows a specific prop you found your culprit. the Avata's motors are pretty sensitive to prop imbalance especially in manual where there's no stabilization smoothing things out.

also check the motor screws, ive seen one slightly loose motor mount cause exactly this kind of consistent directional drift. takes 2 minutes to check and easy to overlook.

tbh in manual mode some drift is kind of expected until you dial in your stick feel, but if it's pulling hard enough that you're actively fighting it yeah something's off. i had a similar thing after a minor crash and it turned out one of my motors was just slightly bent on the shaft, not visible really but enough to cause vibration and pull. the Avata motors aren't super expensive to replace if that ends up being it.
