do i need to register my drone before flying in a national park or is it just a general FAA thing

yeah your coworker is right and this trips up a lot of new pilots. FAA registration and national park rules are two totally separate things. national parks are managed by the NPS and they have a blank

same boat as you a few months ago honestly. what helped me was just downloading the B4UFLY app from the FAA, its not perfect but it at least tells you if youre in controlled airspace or a no fly zone
ok so i just got my first drone like two weeks ago, its a mini 3 pro, and ive been trying to figure out the rules before i just go fly somewhere and get in trouble. i know there's the FAA registration thing which i already did i think, but someone at work told me national parks have their own rules completely separate from that? like even if you're registered with the FAA you still cant fly in yellowstone or whatever?
also does it matter what state youre in because i keep reading stuff that seems to contradict itself. some sites say state parks are fine others say you need a permit. im in colorado if that helps. just trying to not get a fine on my first real outing lol
