so ive been using the stock dji shoulder bag thing that came with my combo and honestly its fine around the house but i took it on a flight last month and was just holding this floppy bag on my lap the whole time and it felt sketchy. the drone was fine but i kept thinking about what would happen if i dropped it going through the overhead bin situation.

anyway i want something more solid for travel, doesnt have to be a pelican or anything crazy but something with foam cutouts would be nice. i also have the fly more kit so i need room for 3 batteries and the charging hub. seen a few random brands on amazon but the reviews are all over the place and half of them look like the same factory just rebranded.

anyone have something they actually like and have traveled with a few times? not looking to spend $150 on a case that costs more than my accessories lol

omg yes the dji bag is so bad for actual travel lol. i just use a think tank photo bag i already had and cut some foam from a craft store to fit around everything. took maybe 30 mins and cost like $8.

i went through this exact same thing last year. ended up getting the Smatree hard case and honestly its been solid. fits the mini 3 with the rc controller, 3 batteries, and i even squeezed my nd filter set in there. the foam is decent, not amazing, but i did reshape a little bit of it with a box cutter to get a cleaner fit. went through maybe 6 or 7 flights worth of travel with it and no issues. carries on fine too which is really what mattered to me.

only thing i'd say is measure your stuff before buying anything because a lot of these cases are listed as compatible but the dimensions are tight if you have the fly more hub. mine fits but just barely.
