so ive had the Mavic 3 Classic for about 8 months now and mostly been flying it in parks and fields near home which is fine but kind of boring honestly. finally drove out to the coast and it was a totally different experience, wind was way more unpredictable than i expected even though the forecast said calm-ish. drone handled it really well but i had a few moments where i got a little nervous watching it fight a gust at like 150m out over the water.
one thing i wasnt prepared for was how fast the battery drains when it's working against wind. i usually get close to the full 40 mins on a calm day but out there i was getting maybe 28-30 mins per battery, sometimes less depending on which direction i was flying. not a huge deal but worth knowing if you're planning a coastal shoot and banking on long flight times.
also the ND filters i've been using (the ones that came in the fly more kit) were pretty much useless in the overcast flat light we had. ended up pulling them off and just shooting without. pictures came out decent but the flat grey sky made everything look a bit meh. anyone have recommendations for getting better coastal shots in that kind of light? not sure if its a settings thing or just the conditions were rubbish.
