DJI FPV goggles v2 not pairing with my Avata after firmware update

  • Members

so this has been driving me insane for the past two days. updated the firmware on my Avata through DJI fly app, everything seemed fine, then i go to fly it the next morning and the goggles just wont link up. the light on the drone is solid green like its ready but the goggles keep searching. ive tried the manual pairing thing where you hold the button on the goggles and drone at the same time but it just never connects. also tried powering everything off and on in different orders which i read somewhere might help but no luck.

worth mentioning i also have the DJI FPV drone and those goggles worked fine with that this morning so its not the goggles themselves. something is definitely off with the Avata side of things or maybe the firmware broke something. anyone else had this after the recent update or know what im missing here

yeah this happened to me a few months back, not after a firmware update but after i accidentally let the battery die completely mid-pairing attempt. what fixed it for me was doing a full factory reset

did you update the goggles firmware too or just the drone? asking because i made that mistake once lol, updated one and not the other and spent an hour wondering why nothing worked

yeah this happened to me a few months back, not after a firmware update but after i accidentally let the battery die completely mid-pairing attempt. what fixed it for me was doing a full factory reset on the Avata through the DJI assistant 2 software on pc, not through the app. the app reset doesnt always clear everything properly from what i can tell. connect it via usb, go into assistant 2 and there should be a restore factory settings option. after that re-pair from scratch and it should work. takes like 10 minutes tops.

also make sure youre on the same firmware version on both the goggles and the drone, mismatched versions can cause exactly this kind of thing and the app doesnt always force both to update at the same time for some reason.
