Air 2S keeps doing this weird thing on landing and i cant figure it out

  • Members

ok so this has been bugging me for a few weeks now. when i bring the drone in to land ? like manual landing, not auto ? it kind of drifts a little at the last second right before touchdown. doesnt crash or anything but its annoying and sometimes lands a couple feet from where i was aiming. im flying in a pretty open area so its not a wind tunnel situation or anything obvious like that.

i updated the firmware a while back, cant remember exactly when. using the RC-N1 controller. anyone else seen this or know what might cause it? feels like maybe a sensor thing but im not sure where to even start

could be the downward vision sensors getting confused if the surface youre landing on is plain or reflective ? like concrete or grass that's kind of uniform can sometimes throw it off a bit near the ground. try landing on a landing pad if you haven't, even a cheap one from amazon. also worth checking if the sensors on the bottom are clean, mine got a smudge on one once and behaved a little weird on descent

yeah the drift on landing thing is pretty common with the Air 2S actually, at least in my experience. i just got used to giving it a little correction input right as it gets close to the ground. its not really a fix i know but. also make sure your IMU calibration is up to date, i think there's an option in the safety menu or somewhere around there. might not be related but doesnt hurt
