DJI pushing another firmware update and now my RTH altitude is reset again

  • Members

genuinely getting tired of this. updated to the latest firmware last night, took the air 2s out this morning and noticed my RTH altitude had defaulted back to 30m. flying in an area with 15m trees so that wouldve been a bad day if i hadnt caught it before launching

this is like the third time a DJI update has reset safety settings and i dont understand why they cant just preserve user settings across updates. it takes maybe 5 minutes to go through everything and reset it all but thats not the point, someday im gonna forget and that 5 minutes is going to matter a lot

anyway just a heads up to anyone who updated recently, go check your RTH altitude, obstacle avoidance sensitivity, and max altitude before you fly. also noticed my video format had flipped back to MP4 from MOV which is a minor thing but still annoying

yeah this is a known annoyance with DJI, some updates preserve settings some dont and theres no rhyme or reason to it that i can tell. i actually keep a notes file on my phone now with all my preferred settings so i can run through it quick after any update. takes about 3 minutes with the list. not a solution obviously but its saved me a few times

wait they reset RTH altitude? thats actually kind of a big deal, thats not just a preference setting thats a safety parameter. im surprised there hasnt been more noise about this. i always do a full settings check before any flight anyway out of habit but i can see how someone more casual would just grab and go after an update and not think about it. DJI really should have some kind of settings backup restore in the app, it wouldnt be that hard to implement
