so ive been putting this off for like two years and finally just scheduled the test so now i have to actually do it. ive been flying recreationally for a while but never bothered with the commercial cert. anyway i signed up for a test date about 5 weeks out which hopefully is enough time. im using the prepilot app mostly and watching some youtube stuff but i feel like theres so much to memorize especially all the airspace stuff and the weather charts. does anyone have like a method that actually worked for them or is it basically just grind the practice tests until you stop getting stuff wrong? the sectional chart reading is killing me

the sectional chart stuff really is the hardest part for most people who didnt come from aviation. what clicked for me was just printing out a couple charts and actually drawing on them, circling the different airspace rings and writing the altitudes next to them. staring at it on a screen wasnt doing anything for me but once i had it physical it made more sense. also dont neglect the weather stuff because i thought i could skim it and i got like 3 or 4 questions on METARs and TAFs and i was scrambling. honestly five weeks is plenty of time if you do like an hour a day. i passed with an 85 and i only studied maybe 3 weeks but i also flew RC for years so some of the airspace concepts werent totally foreign.

just took mine like 6 weeks ago. the practice tests on 107.to are pretty good and the explanations for wrong answers actually teach you the reasoning not just the answer which helped me a lot. the real test felt harder than most of the practice ones tbh but not impossibly so. give yourself extra time on the chart questions dont rush them
