what do you actually charge for real estate shoots these days

  • Members

so ive been doing real estate on the side for about a year now and i honestly have no idea if im charging the right amount. started at $150 per property which felt ok but then i talked to a guy at a local flying club who said he charges $400 for the same kind of job and now im second guessing everything

im in a mid size market, not a huge city but not rural either. i do the standard stuff, 10-15 aerial stills, maybe a short orbit video clip, deliver edited files same day or next morning. takes me maybe 90 minutes total including drive time if the property is close

part of me thinks i was underselling myself this whole time but also i dont want to lose the two agents i already have who seem pretty happy with what they pay now. do you just raise prices gradually or do you have a conversation about it or what

yeah $150 is pretty low for what youre describing. i went through the same thing when i started, basically left a lot of money on the table for the first six months because i was scared to ask for more. what helped me was just repackaging it ? i stopped calling it a drone shoot and started calling it an aerial media package with licensed deliverables and all that. same work, different framing, and i bumped to $275 then eventually $350 and nobody blinked.

the agents who actually value good content wont leave you over a $100 bump especially if youve built a relationship. the ones who would leave over that were probably gonna nickel and dime you eventually anyway. id just send a short email saying your rates are adjusting as of whatever date and keep it casual, dont over explain it

honestly depends so much on your area and who youre shooting for. i charge $225 for a basic package and $350 if they want the video walkthrough combined with aerials. luxury listings i quote higher because the agents are used to paying more for everything anyway and they expect it

one thing that helped me was just looking at what local photographers charge for ground-only real estate work and positioning myself relative to that. if a photographer gets $200 for interior stills it makes sense that aerial adds value on top of that not below it
