litchi vs dronelink for waypoint missions ? am i missing something

so ive been using litchi for waypoint stuff on my mini 3 pro for a while now and its fine, does what i need mostly, but kept hearing people talk about dronelink like its some revelation so i finally bought a month subscription to try it out

honestly the learning curve is kind of steep? like the mission hub interface makes sense once you get it but the first couple hours i spent just trying to figure out where everything was. litchi you can kind of just jump in and start dropping waypoints on a map and its pretty intuitive. dronelink feels like it was designed by engineers for engineers

that said the stuff dronelink can do with facade missions and the altitude control along slopes is genuinely impressive, i tried mapping a retaining wall on a property survey job and it handled the angle interpolation way better than i would have done manually in litchi

anyone else switched between these two or using both depending on what youre shooting? curious if theres a workflow people use where one handles the planning and the other executes or something

been using both for about two years. short answer is dronelink for anything structural or survey-adjacent, litchi when i just need a clean orbit or simple waypoint path and dont want to spend 20 minut

been using both for about two years. short answer is dronelink for anything structural or survey-adjacent, litchi when i just need a clean orbit or simple waypoint path and dont want to spend 20 minutes in mission hub. they really arent competing for the same use case once you get used to each of them

the facade scan thing you mentioned is genuinely one of dronelinks killer features, nothing else on consumer software does it as well. had a client who needed elevation shots of a 6 story building and the automated altitude stepping saved me probably an hour of manual planning
