betaflight filtering feels off after rebuild, not sure where to start

so anyway i finally got my 3inch cinewhoop back together after replacing two motors from a pretty bad crash into a brick wall (dont ask) and now the thing just feels different in the air. not obviously broken, just... mushy i guess? like the responsiveness is there but theres this weird lag on quick direction changes that wasnt there before.

i checked all the obvious stuff, props are balanced, motors spin fine, nothing visibly loose. running the same betaflight config i had before, just restored from backup. running RPM filter with stock dynamic filtering on top of it. the blackbox trace looks a little noisier than i remember but im not great at reading those honestly.

anyone dealt with this after a rebuild where everything looks fine but something just feels off in the tune

check if your motor screws are actually tight and that none of the motor bell has any play. i had super similar symptoms once and it turned out one motor had a tiny bit of wobble from the crash that wasnt obvious until i really grabbed the bell and tried to wiggle it. also worth rerunning motor direction in BF just to make sure nothing got reset in the restore - i know it sounds stupid but ive been burned by that before.

if the blackbox noise floor is higher it could also be that your capacitor took a hit and isnt doing its job anymore. those little ESC caps are cheap and often overlooked after crashes.

RPM filter needs accurate motor pole count and you might want to double check that didnt get weird in the config restore. also if you swapped to even slightly different motors the RPM notch frequencies could be in the wrong place and youll get that sloppy feeling because the filtering is hitting frequencies it shouldnt. i would just do a fresh tune from scratch tbh, config restores after hardware changes cause me headaches more often than not
