so anyway went to my first club meetup last saturday, local RC club does them once a month at a field about 40 minutes from me. i've been flying solo for like 8 months so i figured id finally go check it out. and man i dont know it was just a lot. everyone seemed to know each other and i kind of just stood around for a bit before some older guy noticed i looked lost and came over to talk.

ended up being really cool once i loosened up a bit, he walked me through the flight order thing they do and let me watch him fly his trex 700 which was nuts. i did get a flight in near the end, felt super self conscious with people watching but landed clean so thats something. think im going back next month tho

that first meetup feeling is so real, i remember just hovering my mini 2 about 3 feet off the ground the whole time because i was terrified of crashing in front of strangers lmao. gets easier fast though

those older heli guys are usually the most welcoming people at these things, they love showing off but in a good way. trex 700 collective pitch is no joke, that things probaly worth more than my car. glad you stuck around and flew, showing up is half the battle honestly
