ive been going back and forth on this for like three weeks now and i think im just making myself more confused the more i read. i do mostly landscape stuff, some real estate on the side, nothing crazy action-wise. the Neo looks interesting because of the whole no-controller thing and the way it tracks but the image quality comparisons ive seen online are all over the place depending on who's doing them. some people say the Mini 4 Pro is obviously better for stills, others say for video it doesnt matter as much as you'd think at that price range.

i already have a Mini 2 that i love but ive been wanting something with better obstacle avoidance for when im flying in tighter spots around trees and stuff. not sure the Neo even has proper obstacle avoidance or if its more of a beginner/selfie drone tbh. anyone who's actually flown both have thoughts?

the Neo is really more of a different category of drone than a competitor to the Mini 4 Pro imo. its designed around that whole autonomous follow-me use case, the obstacle avoidance is pretty basic compared to what you get on the Mini 4 Pro and for real estate work you'd probably find the image quality difference noticeable especially in low light. if your main thing is landscape and real estate i'd just go Mini 4 Pro and not overthink it. the Neo is cool but its solving a different problem.

had a similar decision last year and went Mini 4 Pro, zero regrets for the kind of flying you're describing. the APAS obstacle avoidance on it is genuinely good, ive come closer to trees than i'd like to admit and it handled it fine. only thing i'll say is the price jump from Mini 2 is real so if budget is tight maybe wait and see if anything gets announced at the next big trade show, seems like theres usually something new from DJI every few months anyway and prices on older models drop a bit after.
