mini 3 pro keeps drifting when i let go of the sticks??

  • Members

ok so ive had my mini 3 pro for about 3 weeks now and i keep noticing that when i let go of both sticks it doesnt just stop, it kind of drifts forward or to the side for a second before actually hovering. sometimes it moves like a meter or two before settling. is this normal or is something off with my calibration or whatever. i fly in a field near my house so its pretty open, not sure if wind is a factor but it happens even when it doesnt seem that windy out. i did the imu calibration thing when i first got it but maybe i did it wrong

yeah thats pretty normal behavior honestly, especially if theres any wind at all. the mini 3 is so light that even a light breeze will push it around a bit after you release the sticks. it takes a second for the positioning system to correct. if youre flying in sport mode that makes it way worse because obstacle avoidance and some of the stabilization stuff gets disabled. make sure youre in normal mode and see if it still does it. also try recalibrating the compass not just the imu, people always forget the compass and it matters more than people think for hover stability.

mine does the same thing, i just assumed it was wind lol. it scared me the first time because i was flying near some trees and it drifted toward them before catching itself. been more careful about giving myself buffer room since then
