so ive been flying the same aluminium frame for a while now and its fine, honestly its been pretty durable but ive had a few people at the field tell me im leaving performance on the table by not running full carbon. the thing is i already have my stack dialed in, VTX placement sorted, i know exactly where everything sits and swapping frames feels like starting over. my gopro mount is also kind of custom-rigged and i dont want to redo all that.
is the actual flight characteristic difference noticeable enough to justify it? like i get that carbon is stiffer and lighter but im flying mostly cruisy lines, not really throwing it into hard gaps or anything. feels like the carbon argument is always made by people who are way better pilots than me and im not sure it applies the same way at lower skill levels. anyone made this switch and had thoughts either way?
