O3 vs Occusync in real world interference ? anyone actually tested this seriously

okay so i know the spec sheets say O3 is better and yeah range numbers back that up but im specifically curious about how each handles heavy RF interference environments, not just open sky range tests. i fly a lot in urban areas and around industrial sites for work and ive had some weird experiences lately that made me start questioning whether the newer O3 system actually handles congested spectrum better or if its just marketing.

had a situation two weeks ago flying near a manufacturing plant, mavic 3 with O3, and i was getting interference dropouts that felt worse than what my old phantom 4 pro with occusync used to do in similar spots. granted different drones different situations but it got me thinking. the O3 is wider bandwidth which should theoretically help with frequency hopping but im not sure if the implementation is actually better at dealing with narrowband interference sources like industrial equipment.

anyone with actual technical background or real world comparisons between the two done any proper testing? not looking for spec sheet quotes, genuinely curious if someones done side by side in a messy RF environment

not a rigorous comparison but i've flown both systems a fair amount in downtown areas and my general feel is that O3 is more robust overall but it can be weirdly sensitive to certain types of interference that occusync seemed to just push through. i think its partly because O3 is doing more with the signal ? more data throughput, better video ? so when something disrupts it the effect is more noticeable even if the underlying link quality might be similar. like occusync dropping meant lower res video or slight lag. O3 dropping feels more dramatic because you were getting so much more from it in the first place.

industrial sites are their own thing though. some of that equipment puts out seriously dirty RF and im not sure any consumer system handles it gracefully. you might just be hitting the limits of what hobby grade transmission can do in that environment regardless of which protocol

theres a guy on rcgroups who did some spectrum analysis comparing the two a while back, cant remember the thread name but worth searching. from what i remember his conclusion was that occusync 2 actually had slightly better performance in his specific interference scenario but O3 won overall across more varied conditions. the problem with these comparisons is RF environments are so location specific that what works in one place doesnt tell you much about another. your plant might be putting out something in a frequency range that specifically messes with how O3 does its channel scanning
