my Mavic 3 keeps losing signal way earlier than it should, really frustrating

this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to post about it. So basically im losing RC signal at what feels like way shorter range than it should be, sometimes under a kilometer in open fields with almost nothing in between me and the drone. Ive seen people talking about getting 8-10km no problem and im barely scraping 800m before i get warnings.

Running the RC-N1 controller, updated firmware a few weeks ago. Dont think its interference because ive tried it in two totally different locations and same thing happens. One of them was basically a flat empty field with no towers or anything obvious nearby. Antennas on the controller are positioned correctly i think, i always make sure theyre pointing the right way.

Havent changed anything hardware-wise. Its not brand new either, had it for about a year and a half. Anyone dealt with something similar or know what i might be missing here

Few things worth checking ? what does your signal strength graph actually look like in the app when it starts dropping, is it a gradual fade or does it just suddenly tank? Also are you in an area with a lot of 5.8ghz wifi traffic? Even in open fields sometimes there are enough nearby houses or farms running routers that it creates more interference than you'd expect. You can force the RC-N1 to lock onto 2.4ghz in the settings which has better range even if its lower bandwidth, worth trying if you havent already.

Also and i know this sounds dumb but check the antenna connectors on the controller itself, not just the orientation. Had a buddy with a similar issue and one of his internal connections was slightly loose from a drop he forgot he had.
