so ive been flying for about 8 months now and the footage is technically fine i guess, like its in focus and exposure is decent, but when i watch it back it just doesnt have that smooth floaty feel that i see on youtube. i shoot on a mini 3 pro if that matters. im using the d-log color profile and editing in premiere but something is just off. not sure if its a shutter speed thing or maybe how im flying or both honestly.

i tried doing the whole 180 degree shutter rule thing and it helped a little but still not where i want it. any tips from people who have figured this out would be really appreciated, been frustrating me for a while now

had the exact same problem for ages, what finally helped me was adding a tiny bit of motion blur in davinci resolve with the motion effects panel. obviously real motion blur from correct shutter speed

the 180 rule is definitely part of it but honestly a huge thing people overlook is just slowing down in post. like whatever speed you think looks good, try cutting it to like 60 or 70 percent in your NLE. also are you using any smoothing on the gimbal in the app settings? on the mini 3 i think there's an advanced gimbal sensitivity setting, turning that down a notch can make a big difference especially on small movements that look twitchy.

also this sounds obvious but make sure you're not overcorrecting your stick inputs when you fly. a lot of choppy footage comes from pilots making tiny adjustments constantly instead of just committing to the move. takes practice but try to plan your shot before you even take off and then just execute it clean without fussing mid-flight.

had the exact same problem for ages, what finally helped me was adding a tiny bit of motion blur in davinci resolve with the motion effects panel. obviously real motion blur from correct shutter speed is better but if you're already shot the footage it can save clips. also warp stabilizer in premiere helps if there's micro jitter but dont overdo it or it looks weird and wobbly
