my quad just won't hold a snap roll cleanly, keeps washing out at the end

so ive been trying to dial in snap rolls for like 3 weeks now and i cant figure out if its my tune or just my inputs being garbage. the roll initiates fine but then it like slows down before completing and the nose drops a little. im on betaflight 4.4, 5inch setup, running stock rates which i know is probably part of the problem but ive watched like 6 different tutorials and everyone seems to have wildly different rate setups and i dont know whos actually right for this kind of flying.

anyone had this specific thing where the snap just loses energy at the end? not sure if its D term being too high or if i need more expo somewhere. my filters are pretty aggressive because i was chasing some motor heat issues a few months ago and never really went back and relaxed them.

yeah that washout at the end is almost always D term being too conservative or your filters killing the stick response too late in the move. if you cranked your D up for the motor heat thing and never

yeah that washout at the end is almost always D term being too conservative or your filters killing the stick response too late in the move. if you cranked your D up for the motor heat thing and never touched it, thats probably it. try dropping D by like 5-8 on roll first before you mess with anything else. also your rates matter more than people admit for snaps specifically ? you want enough rotation speed that the quad commits to the flip instead of kinda deciding halfway through
