ok so i've been just throwing my mini 3 pro in a backpack with a bunch of foam stuffed around it and honestly every time i land i'm convinced something got bent or scratched. got lucky so far but i know its only a matter of time. took it on a flight to colorado last month and the whole time on the plane i was just staring at the overhead bin like please don't let anyone shove their massive rollaboard on top of that bag.

anyway i've been looking at hard cases, the pelican ones seem like overkill but maybe thats what i need? also saw some people using the dji fly more combo bag thing but it seems kinda flimsy for checked luggage. curious what people are actually using day to day vs for like real travel where the thing might get thrown around

I went through like three different cases before landing on a Nanuk 925 and honestly haven't looked back. Cut my own foam insert which took an afternoon and some patience but now everything fits perfectly ? drone, two extra batteries, the controller, nd filters, all of it. It's not cheap but after watching a buddy crack his mavic screen because he was using a soft case I stopped caring about the price. For carry-on it fits in the overhead no problem and I just make sure it's on top when I board early.

The DJI bags are fine for driving around but I wouldnt trust them checked. They're more like a nice organizer than actual protection.

omg same problem lol, i have a mini 2 and ive just been using the little shoulder bag it came with and its honestly terrifying. someone on here mentioned a hardshell case from a brand called Hprc? havent tried it but seemed like a cheaper alternative to pelican. might just go pelican tho and be done with it
