so ive had the Mini 4 Pro since around november and figured id share some actual real world thoughts since most reviews i found were clearly sponsored or whatever

first the good stuff ? obstacle avoidance is genuinely useful, not just a gimmick like i expected. ive been flying around my parents property which has a ton of trees and it has saved me from some dumb mistakes at least twice. the 4K footage is really clean and the color science straight out of the camera is way better than my old Mini 2 was, like noticeably better if you care about that kind of thing

BUT. and this is a big but. the battery life they advertise is kind of a lie in real world conditions? i live in the northwest and flying in the cold or even just with any wind and im getting like 25-28 minutes max, not the 34 they claim. not a dealbreaker but just something to know going in. also the app still has random disconnects occasionally which drives me crazy

coming from a Mini 2 i think its worth the upgrade but if youre coming from the Mini 3 Pro honestly i dont know if i would bother. the differences aren't massive enough to justify it imo. anyway thats my two cents after actually using it a lot

yeah the battery thing is real, i noticed the same thing. i think they test in like ideal conditions which basically nobody flies in. i picked up two extra batteries and that solved it for me, just rotate them out. the app disconnects are annoying though, i wonder if thats a phone thing too because i had it worse on my old android and its been better since i switched phones

also agree on the Mini 3 Pro comparison, my buddy has one and when we put the footage side by side its not a huge difference. if you already have good batteries and the 3 Pro is working fine for you theres really no reason to chase the upgrade honestly

this is really helpful actually, ive been going back and forth between the Mini 4 Pro and just getting a refurbished Mini 3 Pro to save some money. sounds like for a beginner like me the 3 Pro might be the smarter buy? i mostly want to do some landscape stuff and maybe some shots of my dog at the beach lol nothing crazy professional
