so this has been driving me crazy for like two weeks now. im flying my mavic 3 and somewhere between 300-500m out it just drops link, sometimes comes back on its own sometimes i have to physically walk toward it to get signal back. doesnt matter if im at the park or out in an open field, same thing happens.

ive tried switching between 2.4 and 5.8ghz manually, restarted everything, even did a full controller firmware update last weekend. the weird part is my buddy flies his mini 4 pro in basically the same spots and he never has this issue. at first i thought maybe trees or something but it happens in open areas too so now im stumped.

anyone dealt with this before? im wondering if its the RC2 controller or maybe something with the aircraft antennas. the drone itself is about 8 months old and nothing has been crashed or damaged that i know of.

had almost the exact same thing happen with my air 2s last year. turned out one of the antenna connectors inside the RC was slightly loose, like not fully seated. you could barely tell by looking at it. took it to a local repair shop and the guy found it in like 10 minutes. worth popping the controller open if youre comfortable with that, or just sending it in.

also worth checking if theres a cell tower or wifi router farm near those spots. i fly near an industrial park sometimes and the 5.8 interference is genuinely terrible there, like worse than flying in a city. sometimes 2.4 is actually better depending on the environment even though everyone says 5.8 is cleaner.

not sure if this helps but have you checked the antenna orientation on the aircraft itself? i read somewhere the mavic 3 antennas are in the rear arms and if youre flying directly away from yourself for a long stretch the signal path isnt ideal. probably not your whole problem but might contribute at range.
