how do you guys actually get those smooth cinematic shots? mine always look shaky

ok so ive been flying for about 8 months now and i can do all the basic maneuvers fine but whenever i watch my footage back it just looks... amateur? like i'll do a reveal shot where i fly backwards and tilt up and it looks ok in the moment but then when i edit it together with my other clips it just doesnt flow. feels jerky even though i thought i was flying smooth.

im using a mini 4 pro if that matters. i've tried slowing my stick movements down which helps a little but not enough. do you guys use expo settings or something? or is it more of an editing thing where you need to stabilize in post? honestly not sure if this is a me problem or a settings problem and kind of embarrassing to ask but here we are lol

so this was me like a year ago and the thing that actually fixed it wasnt expo settings (though those help) ? it was shooting in cine mode and also slowing everything WAY down in post. like if you think youre flying slow enough, go slower. the drone can be practically crawling and it still looks fast on screen especially if you have wide angle on.

also check if your ND filters are on because without them youre getting a really short shutter and that kills the cinematic feel even if the movement is smooth. you want 180 degree shutter rule basically, so shutter speed double your frame rate. on a sunny day without NDs the footage will look crispy sharp which actually highlights every tiny wobble. with the right ND it gets that slight motion blur that makes movement look intentional and smooth. game changer honestly

yeah the ND filter thing is real, took me forever to figure that out. also i started doing a lot of my editing in davinci resolve and using the speed ramping thing where you slow a clip down right at the peak of the movement ? like right when you hit the apex of a reveal ? and it hides a lot of awkwardness. not a fix for bad flying but it definitely helps the overall feel of the edit
