finally got my mavic 3 classic and have some dumb questions

ok so i picked up a mavic 3 classic about two weeks ago, its my first proper drone after messing around with some cheap mini stuff years ago. overall im pretty blown away but i keep running into small things that i cant figure out and the manual is honestly not that helpful.

biggest thing right now is the RC controller ? the screen gets really washed out in direct sunlight even at max brightness. is that just how it is or am i missing a setting somewhere? also i noticed the battery percentage drops kind of weirdly, like it'll sit at 80% for a while then suddenly jump down. a friend told me i need to do a battery calibration thing but i cant find where that is in the app.

oh and one more thing, does anyone use ND filters with this? i bought a cheap set off amazon and the colors look kind of off when i use them, not sure if its the filters or if i need to adjust something in the camera settings. been shooting mostly auto for now which i know isnt ideal

the screen washing out is pretty much a known thing with the RC controller unfortunately, its just not as bright as you'd want for noon sun. a lot of people buy a little sunhood for it, there are a few on amazon that clip on and make a huge difference. pretty cheap fix honestly.

for the battery thing, that's totally normal behavior with lipo batteries, they dont discharge in a perfectly linear way. the calibration your friend mentioned is in the DJI Fly app under the battery settings, you just do a full discharge and recharge cycle and it recalibrates the % reading. worth doing especially on new batteries.

and yeah ditch the cheap ND filters. i went through the same thing. the glass quality on the knockoff ones messes with sharpness and color rendition. freewell or kase are the go-to brands most people here use, not crazy expensive but way better than amazon random brands

dont stress too much about shooting in auto while youre still learning the aircraft honestly. get comfortable flying first then start worrying about manual exposure. i still occasionally throw it in auto if im in a rush and just need the shot
