so ive been reading some stuff lately about remote ID enforcement and it seems like its actually starting to get real now, like not just theoretical. saw a post somewhere that a guy got approached at a field and asked to show his remote ID was broadcasting properly. i know we've been talking about this for like two years but feels like its moving from 'yeah eventually' to 'yeah now'

anyway i updated my modules a while back but honestly never thought much about it after that. anyone been keeping up with how aggressive enforcement actually is in their area? im in the midwest so probably not as intense as somewhere like LA or near a major airport but still curious what people are seeing on the ground

yeah its definitely not just theoretical anymore. a buddy of mine flies out near a state park in colorado and he said a ranger asked him about it last month. the ranger didnt really know what they were looking for tbh, just said they'd been told to ask about it. so enforcement is kind of uneven still but its coming for sure. best to just have everything squared away before you get caught off guard

also worth noting the FAA updated some of the guidance docs recently, theres a newer version of the compliance FAQ on their site. might be worth a look if you havent checked in a while

wait so if i have an older quad that doesnt have remote ID built in do i need like an external module? im still pretty new to all this and i bought my mavic mini used and i honestly dont even know if it supports it or not
