New to drone photography - need advice on panorama mode vs manual stitching

  • Members

Just got my first drone (Mini 3 Pro) and I'm confused about something. When shooting panoramas, should I use the in-camera panorama mode or take individual shots and stitch them manually? I come from regular photography where manual stitching usually gives better results, but I'm not sure if that applies to drones too. Also wondering if it's worth shooting at 48mp in good light conditions instead of sticking with 12mp. Any tips from experienced pilots would be appreciated!

I suggest you use the automatic panorama modes - the drone will take pictures as fast as it can which minimizes drift and lighting changes. Manual stitching can give you more control later, but the built-in mode is usually good enough and much easier to manage while flying.

Same question here! I tried both ways and honestly the auto mode saves so much time. The only downside is waiting for the drone to stitch its own panorama (which you'll probably ignore anyway), but at least you get the individual shots too.
