flying in Morocco next month, any tips?

so im heading to Morocco in about 5 weeks and obviously bringing the mini 3 pro. ive done a ton of research but the rules there seem kinda murky? from what i can tell you technically need a permit but nobody seems to enforce it for tourists and theres like zero info on the official government site in english. anyone actually flown there recently and know whats up

mostly planning to shoot around Chefchaouen and maybe the Sahara near Merzouga. the blue city shots ive seen are insane and i really dont want to get there and find out i cant fly anywhere near the medina

flew there last spring, Marrakech and the atlas mountains mostly. nobody stopped me once but i was always careful about launching from outside the main tourist crowd areas. the medina in Chefchaouen is gonna be tight just from a physical standpoint anyway, the streets are narrow as hell and the wind coming off the hills is really unpredictable. i got some decent shots from the hillside above town instead

the sahara though, absolutely go for it. sunrise over the dunes with nobody around is probably the best thing ive ever shot. just watch the sand, got some grit in my bag and was paranoid about it the whole way home

not Morocco specifically but ive traveled with drones a lot and the permit thing is almost always more theoretical than practical for small recreational stuff. just dont fly over crowds or near airports obviously and dont be weird about it and most places you'll be fine. bring a printed copy of whatever official looking document you can find just in case, never had to use one but it feels better having it
