ok so i've been shooting without ND filters since I got my Air 3 back in spring and I know I know, I should have gotten them sooner. the footage in bright sun looks fine to me honestly but i've been reading that the 180 degree shutter rule is a thing and now I can't unsee the motion blur issues in my clips when there's any movement

looked at the DJI magnetic ND set and they're like $89 for the 4 pack which feels steep. there's a bunch of third party ones on amazon that are like $30-40. has anyone tried both and is there actually a difference in image quality or is it just the convenience of the magnetic system. I dont mind screwing filters on if the glass is better

Honestly the third party ones are fine for most shooting. I use Freewell and have zero complaints, the glass is decent and they fit perfectly. The DJI magnetic system is super convenient I won't lie but $89 is a lot when alternatives exist. Only time I'd say spring for the DJI ones is if you're swapping filters constantly mid-shoot because the magnetic click is genuinely faster than screwing anything on with cold fingers.

Also dont sleep on just starting with an ND16 and ND64 before buying the whole set. Most of my flying is with those two anyway depending on time of day.

I got the DJI ones because I was lazy and just added them to my cart when I bought the drone lol. They work great but I genuinley cannot tell you if the Freewells or Polarpros would look any different because i've never tested them side by side. The magnetic thing is nice though, super quick to swap. Probably not $89 nice but here we are
