Looking for honest feedback from surveyors using both platforms. I've been running Mission Planner with Emlid Reach RS+ RTK corrections for boundary surveys, getting ?2-3cm horizontal accuracy consistently. Client is pushing to switch to DroneDeploy enterprise for the "streamlined workflow," but I'm concerned about losing precision.

Key questions: Does DroneDeploy's automated flight planning maintain the same level of RTK accuracy? How does their GCP integration compare to Mission Planner's manual control point workflow? Anyone made this transition?

Made this exact switch 8 months ago. DroneDeploy's RTK accuracy matches Mission Planner when configured properly - you just lose some of the granular control over flight parameters. The automated ground control point detection saves massive time, but verify the GCP coordinates manually for critical surveys.

Been using DroneDeploy Enterprise for 2 years. The workflow is definitely smoother for clients who need quick turnaround, but Mission Planner gives you more control over overlap percentages and flight altitude variations. For boundary work where every centimeter matters, I'd stick with Mission Planner honestly.

Why not run both? I use Mission Planner for the actual survey flights but upload the raw images to DroneDeploy for quick client previews and basic orthomosaics. Best of both worlds - precision where you need it, automation for presentation deliverables.
