thinking about switching from Autel to DJI, anyone done this and regretted it

been flying an Autel Evo Lite+ for about a year and a half and overall its been fine but im just kind of frustrated with the app and the ecosystem stuff. the sky link controller is decent but the software updates feel slow and the app crashes on me more than it should. my buddy flies a DJI Air 3 and every time we go out together i notice how much smoother his whole experience is, from the controller to the footage

my hesitation with DJI has always been the whole data privacy thing and also i feel like theres this thing where once youre in the DJI ecosystem youre kind of locked in forever buying their accessories and batteries and stuff. the Autel batteries work fine and are cheaper to replace. also the Evo Lite+ image quality is honestly really solid and i dont want to go sideways on that

anyone whos made a similar switch have thoughts? im not looking for a full spec comparison i can google that, more just like ? did you end up happy you switched or did you miss your old setup after a few months

made almost exactly this switch about 8 months ago, Evo II Pro to the Air 3. honestly? dont regret it but it took a little adjustment period. the DJI fly app is just so much more polished and reliable and that matters more than i thought it would when youre out in the field trying to get a shot quickly. the ecosystem lock-in thing is real though, ive already bought two extra batteries and the ND filter set and it adds up

image quality wise the Air 3 with the 1/1.3 sensor kept up with what i was getting from Autel so i wasnt disappointed there. if you can try to get your hands on one before buying, like through a local camera store with a return policy, that would be ideal

the data privacy concern is worth taking seriously and not just dismissing. theres been a lot of back and forth on this and honestly i dont think anyones fully settled it. that said most people i know just fly DJI anyway because the product quality gap is hard to ignore at certain price points. its a personal decision at the end of the day. the Autel app being crashy is a legitimate complaint though ive heard that from a few people
