so im heading to portugal next month and obviously the mini 3 is coming with me. ive flown plenty back home but never taken it abroad and im kind of stressing about whether ill get stopped at customs or need some kind of permit or what. did a bit of googling but honestly the rules seem to change depending on which site you read and i cant tell whats current vs outdated info.

anyone done portugal or europe in general recently? is there like one place i should be checking for the actual legit rules or do i just show up and hope for the best lol

droneregulations.info is the site i always check first, its pretty well maintained and covers most countries. for europe the main thing is you usually need to register in each country separately unless youre in the A1/A3 open category already which the mini 3 should qualify for depending on your cert. portugal itself isnt too bad but stay away from anything near sintra or the national parks without checking first, theres restricted airspace all over the place that doesnt show up on casual maps.

customs wise nobody has ever said a word to me about the drone, just carry it in your hand luggage and dont overthink it.

i went to lisbon last year with my mini 2 and honestly it was fine. just used the DJI fly app to check airspace before going anywhere, avoided the obvious touristy spots because theres always people everywhere anyway and its not worth the hassle. the registration thing felt confusing at first but i just did the portuguese ANAC website and it was sorted in like 20 minutes.
