ok so i bought a DJI Mini 2 last week because my brother said it was good for beginners and i honestly dont even know where to start. ive watched like 4 youtube videos but they all assume you already know stuff. like what does RTH actually do in a real situation, does it just fly straight up and come back or does it avoid stuff on the way? also should i be doing my first flights indoors or outside because i keep hearing conflicting things. i dont want to crash it on day one lol. any advice would be really appreciated, even just the basics would help

RTH on the mini 2 doesnt have obstacle avoidance so it'll just climb to whatever altitude you set and fly straight back. make sure that altitude is set higher than any trees or buildings nearby before you fly, thats caught out a lot of people. as for indoors vs outdoors, honestly go outside for your first flight. GPS lock makes it way more stable and forgiving. indoors the thing will drift all over the place because it loses the satellite fix and goes into atti mode basically. find a big open field, calm day, and just hover for a bit before you try anything fancy.

i was in the exact same spot a few months ago with mine. one thing nobody told me was to just let it hover at like 2 meters and get used to which stick does what before even trying to move anywhere. i kept panicking and pushing the wrong way. also the DJI fly app tutorial thing is actually not terrible, i ignored it at first but it does cover the basic stuff. just take it slow and dont rush to do anything cool right away
