I'm so sick of DJI - between the potential US ban issues, battery problems, and app crashes, I'm seriously considering jumping ship to Autel. The new Autel Evo 3 is coming soon, at least to parts of the world other than the US if they don't get FCC license approval.

But before I make the switch, I want to hear from people who've actually used both brands. Is Autel really that much better, or is it a case of "grass is greener"? What are the real pros and cons I should consider?

I switched to Autel last year after my third Phantom gimbal failure. The EVO series is solid but the ecosystem isn't as mature - fewer accessories, smaller community, and software updates are slower. Flight performance is comparable though.

Honestly, every brand has issues. I tried Skydio before settling on DJI and while their obstacle avoidance was amazing, battery life was terrible and customer support was non-existent. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't.

Have you tried the newer DJI models? The Mavic 4 Pro released in May 2025 and most of the major issues from older generations seem resolved. Might be worth one more shot before switching ecosystems entirely.
