yeah so this has been a rough week. studied for like a month, felt pretty good going in, and ended up with a 68 which is two points below passing. the questions i got were weirdly specific, like there was stuff on there about airport operations and runway markings that i honestly barely touched when studying. i used the faa study guide and did some practice tests on one app but maybe i was using the wrong resources. anyone else have this happen and how long did you wait before retesting, im pretty sure theres a waiting period

ugh that sucks man. yeah theres a 14 day waiting period before you can retest, so use that time well. honestly the runway and airport operations stuff is covered in the FAA aeronautical knowledge handbook, chapter on airport operations specifically. a lot of people skip that whole section because they figure they'll never land at a controlled airport with their drone but it shows up on the test anyway. try Scott Hanes on youtube or just grind dauntless until your scores are consistently in the mid 80s before you go back in

i failed my first attempt too, got a 70. went back two weeks later after basically just hammering practice questions every night and got a 91. the thing i realized is the FAA study guide is kind of bare minimum, you actually need to understand the concepts not just memorize answers because they word things differently on the real test. the sectional chart questions especially, you gotta actually know how to read them not just recognize what the symbols look like
