ok so i signed up for a local MultiGP race kind of on a whim after flying practice laps for about 8 months and i'm honestly not sure i'm ready but the entry fee was only like 15 bucks so whatever. i've been running a 5in freestyle build which i know isnt ideal for racing but ive tuned the pids pretty well and it handles clean. probably should have built something dedicated but here we are.
i know the basics - i have my HAM license, goggles are on a legal frequency, i'll bring extra props and a few batteries. but i genuinely dont know what race day actually looks like. like do they do practice rounds before heats? how strict are people about impound? is everyone gonna be annoyed that im on a freestyle build. ive watched some race coverage but that obviously doesnt tell you what its like to actually be there standing in a pilot box nervous as hell trying not to crash in round 1.
also my DVR has been flaky lately, should i bother trying to fix it before saturday or just forget about it
