anyone regret buying the Avata 2 over just getting a regular cinematic drone

so i picked up the Avata 2 about two months ago because i got really into fpv style content and all those immersive low flying videos and thought it would be the move. and look, its fun, i won't pretend its not. but i keep watching footage from people flying like a mavic 3 pro or even the air 3 and wondering if i made a mistake.

the thing is the Avata is great when im flying through trees or doing those cinematic banking turns but any time i want to just get a nice wide establishing shot or anything that requires hovering steady and doing a slow pull back it just... doesnt feel right. the fisheye thing bugs me more than i thought it would too even with the flat mode or whatever its called.

not sure if im just still in the learning curve with it or if i genuinely bought the wrong tool for what i actually want to create. has anyone switched from fpv style to more traditional or done both? how did you handle it

tbh this is a really common thing i see with the Avata specifically. its marketed in a way that makes everyone feel like they want that flying experience and some people genuinely do, but a lot of folks realize after a few weeks that what they actually want to make is more traditional cinematic content and an fpv platform is just fighting against that every step of the way. the lens distortion thing especially, you can correct it in post but it adds a step and never feels quite right on certain shots. not saying you made a bad purchase cause the avata really is fun, but if your goal is polished looking travel or landscape video a mavic style drone is honestly just easier to get there with

im kind of in the opposite boat, had a mini 3 for ages and kept eyeing the avata because the videos looked so sick. ended up not getting it and im glad i didnt because i think id have felt the same way you do now. what kind of stuff were you filming before you got it? might help figure out if its a learning curve thing or just a mismatch
