finally got my Mavic 3 Classic and honestly a few things surprised me

so ive had the Mini 2 for about two years and just pulled the trigger on the Mavic 3 Classic last month and honestly the jump is bigger than i expected in some ways and smaller in others. the Hasselblad sensor is obviously the big selling point and yeah the colors out of the raw files are just different, like genuinely different in a way thats hard to explain until you pull them into Lightroom and see how much latitude you have in the shadows.

what surprised me though was the wind handling. i was flying out near the coast last weekend and had some pretty gnarly gusts, maybe 25-30mph, and the thing was just locked in. my Mini 2 wouldve been doing its little nervous dance all over the place. tracking shots are so much smoother now too.

one thing i didnt expect to be annoyed by is how much heavier the controller feels after two years with the lighter one. my wrists actually got tired on a longer session which sounds ridiculous but its true. anyone else find a good way to deal with that, like a neck strap or something? also curious if the ND filter sets people are using, ive been looking at the Kase ones but theyre not cheap.

the wind resistance difference is real, i noticed the same thing coming from an Air 2S. you kind of forget how much mental energy you spend babysitting the smaller drones in wind until you dont have to anymore.

for the controller thing ? i picked up a cheap lanyard off Amazon, one of those ones with the adjustable strap that hooks onto the bottom, takes like 30 seconds to attach and completely solved it for longer sessions. think i paid maybe 12 dollars for it. nothing fancy but it works.

on the ND filters, i went with Freewell and honestly havent felt the need to look at anything else. the magnetic ones are super fast to swap and the quality seems solid to me, though im not a super pixel-peeper about that stuff. Kase are probably better but idk if the difference justifies the price unless youre doing paid work.
