so ive been seeing bits and pieces about the updated FAA remote ID enforcement stuff and honestly i cant tell if its gonna affect my setup or not. i fly a mini 3 pro mostly in my neighborhood and at the local park and someone in another group mentioned that some of the grace period stuff is ending soon. does anyone actually know whats changing or is it just the same rules they announced like two years ago finally being enforced for real now

also saw something about the EU tightening things up too for anyone flying over there. i have a friend in germany who says its already kind of a nightmare to get approvals for anything beyond like line of sight in populated areas. anyway just wanted to see if anyone here has been keeping up with this more than me because i definitely havent been following it as closely as i should

yeah the remote ID thing is basically just enforcement catching up to where the rules already were, at least in the US. if you have a mini 3 pro you should be fine since it has broadcast remote ID built in, DJI sorted that out with a firmware update a while back. the bigger thing is if youre flying something older that doesnt have it and you havent registered it or added a module. thats where people are gonna get caught out.

the EU stuff is a whole other beast though. the C class rating system over there has been rolling out and its genuinely confusing, my mate in the netherlands has basically stopped flying anything over 250g in any semi-urban area because the category requirements are just too much paperwork for casual flying. its a bit much honestly.

wait the mini 3 pro already has remote ID built in? i didnt know that. i just got mine last month and i havent really dug into all the compliance stuff yet, been too busy just learning to fly it without crashing lol. do i need to do anything to activate it or does it just work automatically
