so ive been running the DJI FPV drone for about a year now with the goggles v2 and motion controller, mostly just cruising around parks and open fields, nothing crazy. recently picked up an Avata and have been flying them both on the same goggles which is great obviously but now im wondering if the Goggles 2 are actually worth the upgrade.

my main thing is the image quality feels a little soft on the v2 sometimes, especially in lower light, and i keep seeing people talk about how much better the Goggles 2 are for the Avata specifically. but like... is that actually true or is it just youtube gear hype. the v2s work totally fine for me and i dont want to drop another 400+ just to get marginally better micro OLED or whatever.

anyone running both drones on the Goggles 2 that can give an honest take? particularly curious if the field of view difference is as noticeable as people say

honestly the FOV difference is real but whether its worth it depends on what you're used to. i came from the v2 goggles and when i first put on the Goggles 2 it felt like going from watching a movie on a laptop to actually being in it. the micro OLED makes a big difference in bright outdoor conditions too, less washing out. but low light is actually kind of a wash in my experience, neither is great.

the thing that got me was the comfort. v2 always felt a bit front heavy after a long session, Goggles 2 sit better on your face. if you fly both drones regularly i'd probably say worth it eventually but its not like your footage is gonna suddenly be amazing, the bottleneck is mostly the O3 transmission and lighting conditions anyway.

wait the Goggles 2 work with the original DJI FPV drone? i thought they were Avata only for some reason. if thats the case maybe i need to look into this more lol
