been flying for about 6 years now and i got my Part 107 back when it first rolled out so i try to stay on top of this stuff, but remote ID has always felt kind of theoretical to me because i've never once had anyone approach me about it or seen any real enforcement stories from people i fly with

curious if thats just because it's genuinely not being enforced much yet or if i'm just in an area where nobody cares. i fly mostly rural and semi-rural spots so maybe thats why. heard from someone at a fly-in last month that there was an actual interaction with law enforcement in a park situation somewhere in the midwest but the details were vague and it sounded more like a general drone complaint than specifically remote ID related

Honestly same boat. I've had the module on since basically day one and zero interactions specifically about remote ID. Had a park ranger come over once but that was just because he wanted to see the drone, he had no idea what remote ID even was when I mentioned it. So enforcement feels pretty thin on the ground right now at least in my area which is Pacific Northwest mostly.

My understanding is the FAA is kind of building up to it, like they need more of the infrastructure in place before they can really do anything meaningful with the data. But I'm not a lawyer so take that for what its worth.

this is actually something i've been wondering about too. i'm still pretty new and when i was studying for my 107 the remote ID stuff was kind of glossed over in the materials i used. does the broadcast module just plug into the drone or is it something you configure in the app? sorry if thats a dumb question, i fly a Mavic 3 Classic if that matters
