EVO II Pro keeps losing connection randomly ? anyone else had this

this has been bugging me for a while and i cant figure out if its a hardware thing or something in the app. basically im mid flight and the video feed just drops for like 5-10 seconds then comes back. the drone doesnt RTH or anything it just keeps flying but the feed goes blank and obviously thats pretty terrifying when youre 300 meters out.

ive tried reinstalling the app, i updated the firmware last month, and it still happens. seems worse in areas with more wifi interference but honestly it happens in the middle of fields too so i dont think thats the whole story. my controller is the Smart Controller version if that matters.

not sure if i should contact Autel support or if theres some setting im missing. googled around but most of the threads i found were old and talking about a different firmware version.

had almost the exact same issue with mine a few months back. for me it turned out to be the cable connecting my phone to the controller was just slightly loose and would lose signal under vibration. but you said youre using the Smart Controller so thats probably not it.

have you tried switching the transmission frequency between 2.4 and 5.8? sometimes the auto mode makes weird choices depending on environment. i know it sounds basic but thats fixed random dropouts for a few people i know. also worth checking if the antennas on the controller are oriented correctly relative to where the drone is ? sounds obvious but its easy to forget when youre focused on flying.

Autel support is actually pretty responsive in my experience, like way better than trying to get DJI to help you. worth just emailing them with your firmware version and a description. they had me send over some log files one time and actually diagnosed the problem instead of just telling me to reset everything.
