Mobula8 vs BetaFPV Pavo25 ? which one actually holds up after a few months

  • Members

quick comparison question, been running a Mobula7 1S for indoor stuff and want to step up to something with a bit more punch that i can also take outside on calm days. the Mobula8 seems like the obvious upgrade but the Pavo25 keeps popping up in recommendations and im not sure if thats just because BetaFPV markets harder or if its actually the better quad.

from what i can tell the Pavo25 runs 2S which should give it noticeably more authority in the air but i've also heard the VTX thermals are an issue on it? or maybe that was an older version. the Mobula8 can run 2S too i think but im seeing conflicting info about whether you need a different battery config for that.

anyone been flying either of these for more than like 2 months and can say how they're holding up durability wise, thats kind of more important to me than outright performance honestly since i crash a lot still

had the Pavo25 since around late last year and the vtx heat thing was definitely a problem on the original version, Haptic i think it was called, but mine is the updated one and its been fine. flew it maybe 200+ packs now and only replaced the canopy once after a bad concrete kiss. the motors are still running smooth which kind of surprised me given how rough i am with it.

cant speak to the Mobula8 directly but my buddy has one and he's always fussing with the tune. like its not bad but it doesnt feel as locked in as my Pavo does. could be skill diff too though, hes newer than me

the 2S thing on the Mobula8 is a bit annoying to figure out at first, you need the right connector config and the BT2.0 vs PH2.0 stuff confused me for way longer than it should have. once its sorted though its a great little quad. personally i think it flies better than the Pavo25 but i also think the Pavo looks nicer on camera which matters if you care about that sort of thing. for pure bashing around a park i'd take the Mobula8
