so ive been flying a self built 5inch with analog for like 3 years now and honestly im just tired of rebuilding after crashes. thinking about just going prebuilt this time around and not having to think about it. been looking at the iflight Nazgul evoque and also the diatone roma f5 but i keep going back and forth on whether to get the O3 version or just stick with analog and save the 80-100 bucks.

my buddy says O3 is night and day but hes also the kind of guy who upgrades everything every 6 months so i dunno how much i trust his opinion lol. anyone actually done a real comparison or switched from analog to O3 on a prebuilt and felt like it was actually worth the price jump? flying mostly freestyle in open areas, not racing or anything super technical.

went from a self built analog quad to the evoque F5 V2 with O3 last year and honestly yeah it is worth it if youre flying in anything other than broad daylight. the latency difference is noticeable but not in a way that ruins you for analog, more like you just stop thinking about it. the real win for me was flying in lower light ? analog just falls apart and O3 holds up way better than i expected.

that said the evoque out of the box needed some work on the rates and filters before it felt good. stock tune is fine for cruising but if you like snappy freestyle moves you'll want to spend an afternoon in betaflight. not saying its a bad prebuilt just saying dont expect it to be perfect day one.

the roma f5 is what i have and i got the analog version just to save money and honestly no regrets. slapped a walksnail avatar on it later when i found one used and got best of both i guess. prebuilts are solid for not wanting to think about component compatibility but the tunes really do vary a lot between manufacturers, diatone tends to run their PIDs a bit hot from factory in my experience.
