been trying to nail the classic slow reveal shot where you rise over an obstacle and then the subject comes into frame. sounds simple but every time i do it theres this tiny jerk at the start of the throttle input and another one when i try to slow to a stop at the top. ive watched probably 40 tutorials at this point and everyone just says 'be smooth' which, thanks, very helpful.

im on a dji air 3 in normal mode with expo at default. been wondering if i should mess with the expo curves or if this is purely a me problem that more practice will fix. someone in another thread mentioned dropping the sensitivity on the throttle axis specifically and that helped them but i havent tried it yet. probably a me problem but figured id ask before i start touching settings i dont fully understand

its definitely not just you ? throttle smoothness is genuinely one of the harder things to develop and most tutorials gloss over it because its hard to explain in words. the jerk at the start is almost always from applying input too fast, even if it feels slow to you. your fingers know what smooth means but your brain is still in a hurry.

on the expo question ? yes, adjusting the throttle expo can help, basically makes the center of the stick travel less sensitive so small movements dont translate to big changes. but i'd honestly try practice first because if you lean on the expo setting as a crutch you sometimes end up with weird behavior at the extremes of travel. what helped me more was flying in attitude mode for a few weeks just to really feel what the throttle was doing without the flight controller smoothing everything out. humbling but effective.

yeah the stop jerk is real and annoying. i noticed i was actually releasing throttle slightly before i wanted to stop which would cause a small dip and then the stabiliztion would overcorrect. took me forever to realize i was doing it. might not be your issue but worth thinking about. also the air 3 in cine mode if you havent tried that ? it limits your max speed and adds its own input smoothing which can mask some of the jerkiness while you're learning the feel
