this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its a settings thing or a hardware thing. basically my Air 3 with the RC 2 controller starts getting signal warnings way earlier than it used to. like i used to be able to get a solid connection out to maybe 1.5 or 2km no problem in my usual flying spot and now it starts getting a bit choppy around 800m or even less sometimes. nothing has really changed in my setup that i can think of.

im on the latest firmware. the spot im flying is a big open field, not a ton of interference usually. i did switch to flying O3 only mode a while back to see if that helped and it kind of did but not as much as expected. just wondering if anyone has run into this and figured out what was going on. feels like maybe an antenna thing but i dont really know how to check that

few things i'd check ? first make sure the antennas on the RC 2 are positioned correctly, sounds obvious but the angle matters more than people think. they should be oriented so the flat face is pointed toward the drone not the edge. also worth checking if there's been any new interference in your area, cell towers, wifi stuff, even other pilots. i had a similar issue and it turned out a new hotspot setup near the field was killing my range.

also check if the drone body has taken any knocks recently. i've heard of people having antenna connection issues inside the aircraft after a minor bump that didn't seem like a big deal at the time. if you have a way to check signal strength in the DJI fly app during flight that can give you a clue about where it's dropping.

had something similar last summer, turned out the rubber cover on one of the RC2 antennas was slightly peeled back and just kind of sitting weird. no idea how it happened. reseated it and signal went back to normal basically. probably not the same thing but worth a look before you send anything in for service
