ok so this is kind of embarassing but i put my first real edit up on instagram yesterday. its like 90 seconds of footage from this coastal area near me, took me a while to cut it together and i was pretty happy with how it turned out. got a few nice comments but also a couple people saying the footage looked "floaty" and one person said my LUTs were overdone which honestly stung a bit because i spent ages on the colour.

im using the mavic 3 classic and shooting in d-log m so theres definitely some grading involved. is floaty just like a style thing or is that actually a problem with how im flying? genuinely cant tell if its a critiism or just preference. maybe i should post it here too and get some more opinions before i decide if i need to change anything

floaty is usually just people saying the movements look too smooth or slow, which honestly isnt always bad depending on the vibe you're going for. coastal stuff sometimes works better with slower movement anyway. instagram comments are also just. not always the most useful feedback in the world

yeah post it here for sure. and dont stress too much about the lut comment, everyone has an opinion on grading and half the time its just personal taste. d-log m does need a decent amount of work to look right so if anything you might just need to dial back the contrast slightly but hard to know without actually seeing it. whats the footage of specifically, like cliffs or beach?
