mini 4 pro firmware bricked after update ? or at least i think it did

  • Members

so this has been a nightmare. updated the mini 4 pro firmware last tuesday through the dji fly app and now the drone connects fine, RC-N1 shows it linked, everything looks normal on screen but when i arm and try to take off it just... spins up and then immediately disarms. wont actually lift. no error message that makes any sense, just says check aircraft status which is completely useless

ive tried refreshing the firmware through the app twice more, did the whole power cycle thing, even tried it on a different phone. same result every time. the motors sound fine when they spin up so i dont think its a hardware issue but who knows at this point

checked the dji forums and saw a few people with similar issues after this specific update but no actual solutions posted yet. has anyone dealt with this or know if dji has a way to do a full firmware rollback because i cant find that anywhere on their site

DJI Assistant 2 on a computer is the way to go for this, the app-based firmware refresh is pretty limited. Connect via USB, open assistant 2 and it should give you more options including a clean reinstall of the firmware. Saved me once when an update on my Air 2S went sideways. Make sure you're using the consumer version of Assistant 2 not the enterprise one, I made that mistake the first time

had something similar happen but it turned out one of my props wasnt fully seated and the sensors were detecting the imbalance before liftoff. probably not your issue if it was working before the update but worth checking every prop click before you go too deep into firmware stuff. though yeah the assistant 2 route is definitely where id start
