ok so this has been bugging me for a while. every time i ask about brands i get completely different answers and i cant tell if its just brand loyalty or if there are actual real differences. like someone will swear by geprc and then the next guy says the frames crack too easy. then you got the iflight crowd who acts like its the only option but ive seen enough QC complaints to make me nervous.

diatone seems to fly under the radar a bit more ? the roma series looks nice on paper but theres way less content about them compared to the others. are they actually good or is the lack of coverage a red flag

im not even asking for the absolute best, just which one youve had the fewest headaches with. running 6s if that matters

geprc is probably my pick for overall consistency, had two of their quads and both arrived in good shape and flew well without much tweaking. the mmark5 hd in particular was pretty much ready to send. frame does feel a little plasticy in spots compared to some customs ive built but i havent had one crack on me yet and ive had some pretty rough crashes including one that found a concrete barrier at speed

iflight id say the motors they spec are usually fine but sometimes the ESC stack they pair them with feels like an afterthought, had one where the ESC was already showing a warning in betaflight logs on like the third flight. could just be bad luck. diatone honestly dont have enough experience with to say either way, the roma looked interesting to me too but i ended up going geprc cause i found a deal

the lack of coverage on diatone is just cause they dont pay youtubers as much, not a red flag imo. i ran a roma f5 v2 on 6s for most of last summer, motors ran cool, the frame took abuse better than i expected. the only thing that annoyed me was the camera mount cracked after a pretty moderate nose-in but thats like a 3 dollar part. would fly one again
